Examples of Volume of a cylinder

Volume of a cylinder

Post by

The volume of a cylinder equals the (area of the base) * height
**natttt***Posted on 2011-01-21 17:58:45*

Vol = pi * r² * h

One example, if the height of the cylinder is 25 cm and base radius is 3 cm, it holds that:

Vol = pi * r² * h

Vol = 3.14 * (3 cm)² * 25 cm

Vol = 3.14 * 9 cm² * 25 cm

Vol = 706.5 cm³

Other example. If the height of the cylinder is 14 cm and base radius is 5 cm, it holds that:

Vol = pi * r² * h

Vol = 3.14 * (5 cm)² * 14 cm

Vol = 3.14 * 25 cm² * 14 cm

Vol = 1100 cm³
