A possessive noun is one which is possessed by a proper noun (name of person, place or animal) in a phrase.

Examples of possessive nouns:

Karen"s bag.
In this phrase, "bag" is a possessive noun because Karen owns it.

Paris" Eiffel tower.
"Eiffel tower" is possessive noun because it belongs to Paris.

The dog"s collar.
collar is possessive, it belongs to the dog.
