The total surface area (TSA) of a cylinder with radius r and height h is given by 2 * pi * r * (r + h). That is:

TSA = 2 * pi * r * (r + h)

For example: Using pi = 3,142, find the total surface area of a cylindrical tin of radius 20cm and height 5cm.

TSA = 2 * pi * r * (r + h)
TSA = 2 * 3,142 * 20 (20 + 5)
TSA = 2 * 3,142 * 20 * 25
TSA = 3142,00

So, the total surface area is 3142 cm^2
